Born to blues harmonica player Cary Bell, two things were prevalent in Lurrie Bell`s life, Gospel and the Blues. Regarded as one of the finest blues guitarists around, he spent years learning the business of blues in bands for legends such as Koko Taylor and Willie Dixon, before striking it out on his own. He's appeared on more than 50 recordings, including 9 of his own, such as the Grammy nominated Chicago Blues: A Living History (2009) and Blues in My Soul (2013). Lurrie Bell has been described as "a throwback [...] no flash, no showboating, and no screaming guitar - just solid ensemble playing".
